Lost-pet recovery, free for life
Every pet registered with United Pet Club is covered by lost-pet recovery at no cost, for its whole life. No annual fee, no renewal, no lapsed protection. If your pet goes missing, the way home is already in place.
How recovery works
Report lost
Mark your pet lost from its profile, with where it went missing. The report is live immediately.
Found-pet lookups
Anyone who finds a pet can run a free lookup on its chip or tag number, day or night, no account needed.
Scan matching
When a shelter or vet scans your pet's chip, the registration leads straight back to your pet's profile and your lost report.
A protected contact relay
Finders reach you through the registry, so your phone number and address are never printed anywhere public. You decide what to share, and when.
Phone support
The recovery line at 1-800-AID-PETS (+1-800-243-7387) takes found-pet calls around the clock. Upgraded plans add the 24/7 live agent line and extra notification options.
Reunite and close
When your pet is home, close the report from the profile. The episode stays on the profile's history.
Free means free
Recovery services often charge yearly. United Pet Club does not. Registration and recovery stay free for the life of the pet, because a lapsed subscription should never be the reason a pet fails to make it home. Updating your contact details is free too, as often as life changes.
The free service is the Free lifetime plan. Optional upgrades exist for people who want more: a 24/7 live agent line, more ways to be notified, and priority handling. See what each plan includes. The free plan never expires either way.
For breeders, shelters and rescues
If you register animals for others, every chip you register free carries the same lifetime recovery, including batch registrations for a whole litter. When you transfer an animal to its new owner, the coverage follows the animal and the new owner takes over the contact details.
Breeders can fold this into their program with the breeding software: chips registered at weaning, recovery active before the animal ever leaves the property.
Lost-pet recovery questions
Is United Pet Club's pet recovery really free for life?
Yes. Recovery comes with free microchip and pet registration and never expires. There are no annual fees, and updating your contact details is always free. Paid upgrades exist, but the free coverage does not lapse if you skip them.
Do I have to renew my microchip registration every year?
No. You register once and it stays active for the life of your pet. The only thing worth revisiting is your contact information whenever it changes.
What should I do the moment my pet goes missing?
Mark the pet lost on its profile so lookups and scans match immediately. Then search the immediate area, tell neighbors, and notify nearby shelters and vets. Keep your phone reachable: finder contact comes through the registry relay.
Will strangers see my phone number or address?
No. A finder never sees your personal details. The registry relays the contact, and you choose what to reveal and when.
My chip is registered with another registry. Can I register it here too?
Yes. Any ISO microchip can be registered with United Pet Club regardless of brand or where else it is listed, and extra registrations widen the net. United Pet Club participates in the AAHA universal pet microchip lookup, so shelters find our records quickly.
Does recovery work outside the United States?
Yes. Registration and recovery work worldwide, and the platform is available in more than 70 languages.
What do the upgraded plans add?
The free plan covers registration, lost reports, lookup matching and the contact relay. Upgrades add the 24/7 live agent line, extra notification channels and priority handling. See the registration plans page.
What if my pet has no microchip?
A QR pet ID tag links to the same profile and works with the same recovery service. A chip plus a tag is the strongest setup: the tag is instant, the chip survives a lost collar.
What happens when someone finds my pet?
They look up the chip or tag number, or a shelter scans the chip. The match reaches you through the relay and by the channels on your plan, and you arrange the reunion on your terms.
