Otitis externa
Also known as: Ear infection
Otitis externa is inflammation of the external ear canal and is one of the most common conditions seen in dogs. It is almost always secondary to underlying factors such as allergies, ear conformation, parasites, or moisture, with bacteria and yeast as secondary invaders. Treatment addresses both the infection and its underlying cause.
