Linking a chip to you takes five minutes
Registering ties the number under your pet's skin to your contact details, so a scan at a clinic points straight back to you rather than nowhere. Registration in the United Pet Club pet registry is free for life and works regardless of which provider implanted the chip.
Before you begin
Grab your pet's microchip number first, a 15-digit figure printed on the paperwork from the implanting vet, or visible on a scanner readout if your vet checks it for you. You'll also need your current contact details plus a few basics about your pet: species, breed, colour, and birth date if you have it.
Not certain your pet is even chipped? Ask at your next vet visit; the scan takes seconds and most clinics will run it during a routine appointment. Once you have the number in hand, registering works the same way no matter which company made the chip, and if your dog isn't chipped yet at all, remember the AVS licensing deadline is three months of age.
Five steps to register your pet's microchip
1
Create a free account
Sign up for a free United Pet Club account. Your registration and any future updates live here.
2
Enter the microchip number
Type the 15-digit number from the paperwork or scanner readout, checking each digit carefully; one wrong figure links the wrong record to a scan.
3
Add your pet's details
Fill in your pet's name, species, breed, colour, and birth date if known, so a vet can confirm they've found the right animal.
4
Add your contact information
Enter the phone number, email, and address a finder should use. This is what actually gets contacted, so keep it current.
5
Confirm and save
Review the record and save it. Your pet's chip is now searchable in the United Pet Club pet registry, and you can come back any time to edit it.
Keep the details behind the chip current
A microchip only helps if the contact information tied to it is correct. Move flats, change your number, or rehome your pet, and the registry should be updated that same day. Changes are free and go live immediately.
Dogs and cats register through the same process; our species guides walk through the specifics: register a dog or register a cat. No chip yet? Register your pet now and slot the chip number in after the vet visit. To see exactly what the free lifetime plan covers before you commit, read free microchip registration.
Registration questions
How do I register my dog's microchip in Singapore?
Register it free with United Pet Club: create an account, enter the 15-digit chip number, and add your contact details. It works with any brand of chip implanted by any licensed vet. Keep in mind the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) legally requires every dog here to be licensed and microchipped by three months old, so that requirement sits alongside this registry rather than being replaced by it, and our registration never costs anything on top. It's available worldwide too, so the record follows you if you relocate.
How long does registering a microchip take?
Most owners are done in a few minutes once they have the chip number and their pet's basic details ready. No waiting period; the record is searchable as soon as you save it.
Can I register a chip that a different company implanted?
Yes. Enter the number from your pet's paperwork and it registers in the United Pet Club pet registry exactly as one of our own chips would.
What if I can't find my pet's microchip number?
Ask your vet or a local shelter to scan for it. The scan is quick and painless, and most clinics check for a chip during a routine visit anyway.
Do I need to re-register after moving or changing numbers?
No fresh registration needed. Log in and update the existing record with your new details; the change is free and applies immediately.
