Choosing the right pet passport
The core information is the same in every UPC pet passport. What you're really choosing is the cover, the personalization, and whether the order is for one pet or an entire practice.
Standard, premium, and custom passports
Call it a pet passport or an animal passport, the booklet is the same, and so are its core sections: animal information, vaccines and treatments, and records. Where the editions differ is the cover and the personalization. Choose a premium cover and you get PU leather in more than 20 colours and textures; choose a personalized edition and a colour photo of your pet is added with the details already filled in.
For pet professionals there's a custom edition too, built around a full colour page for a business, clinic, or kennel, and no minimum order applies. Contact us to arrange a custom print run.
And whatever edition you land on, pairing it with your pet's registry profile keeps the same identification details backed up online.

What belongs in your pet's vaccine record
1
Rabies vaccination
Each rabies shot gets its own entry: the date, the vaccine label, and your vet's signature.
2
Other core vaccines
Vaccines beyond rabies follow the same pattern, with a date, a label, and a vet signature for every one.
3
Annual wellness exam
Jot down how the routine checks went, from eyes and ears through teeth, heart, and skin.
4
Antiparasite treatments
Flea, tick, and worm treatments go in as your pet receives them.
Pet travel document basics for Canadian travellers
Three things come up again and again when a pet travels: proof of identification (a microchip or tag), a current rabies vaccination, and in some cases a rabies antibody titration test, the check certain countries run to confirm the vaccine actually took before letting a pet in. Rather than loose paperwork, a passport holds all of it in one place.
Requirements shift by country, by airline, and over time, and this page is general information rather than legal or veterinary advice. For Canadian pet owners the export requirements come from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and they can differ by province as well as by destination country; US rules don't automatically carry over to Canadian travellers. Confirm the official requirements for your destination and airline before you book travel for your dog or cat, and talk timing through with your vet, since certain tests and vaccinations have to be done a set number of days ahead of departure.
Travel paperwork and passport questions
What's the difference between a standard and a premium pet passport?
The animal information, vaccine, and record sections are identical in both. What premium adds is the colourful PU leather cover; a personalized edition goes further with a prefilled colour photo page.
What belongs in my pet's vaccine record?
Rabies vaccination history, the other core vaccines, and antiparasite treatments are the minimum. Plenty of owners add annual wellness exam results along with any other treatments or surgeries.
Do I need a rabies titration test to travel with my pet?
For some destinations, yes; certain countries won't take the vaccination record on its own for international travel or shipping. The CFIA publishes the requirements for each destination, and note that the test has to fall within a specific window ahead of your travel date.
What do I need to travel to the EU with my dog from Canada?
A microchip, a current rabies vaccination, and a completed passport or health document are the usual EU basics. Entry rules differ by country, and Canadian rules and timelines aren't the same as US ones, so verify the current requirements with the CFIA and your airline before you fly.
Can I order a custom pet passport for my business?
Yes. Custom passports carry a full colour page for your practice, kennel, or business, with no minimum order to meet.
