Columnaris disease
Columnaris is a common bacterial disease caused by Flavobacterium columnare, producing greyish-white skin lesions, mouth fungus-like growths and saddle-shaped patches across the back. Despite the cottony appearance it is bacterial, not fungal. It can progress very rapidly, particularly in warm water, and cause high mortality.
