An inherited deficiency of clotting factor VII, caused by a mutation in the F7 gene, that produces a usually mild bleeding tendency. It is well documented in Beagles and several other breeds and is often discovered incidentally on coagulation testing. Most affected dogs bleed only after surgery or trauma.
