Free means free: no fees, no renewals, ever
United Pet Club charges nothing to register a microchip and nothing to change your details afterwards. Whether your pet carries one of our chips or a chip from any other provider, the free lifetime plan puts it on the pet registry at no cost, with nothing to renew for the rest of your pet's life.
What the free plan actually covers
Free registration puts your pet's microchip number, your contact details, and your pet's basic description into a record on our pet registry, searchable by a vet surgery, rescue centre, or dog warden at any hour. Creating the record costs nothing. Keeping it active costs nothing. Changing your phone number or address later costs nothing either, and that last one is precisely where plenty of other registries send you an invoice.
The free lifetime plan handles the essentials: registration, unlimited updates, and round the clock searchability. Want more? Upgraded registry features such as extra notification options sit on top of it. Nothing about the free plan lapses or needs renewing, and if you have never registered a chip before, the step by step guide takes you through it. The plan is available worldwide too: wherever you live, and wherever you move later on, the same free registration applies.
Included at no charge
Lifetime registration
The registration never expires, and there is no renewal to remember or repurchase to make.
Unlimited contact updates
Move house, change your mobile, switch email address: update the record as often as life requires, free every time.
Searchable at any hour
Vets, rescue centres, and dog wardens can search the registry day or night, including through the AAHA universal microchip lookup.
Any brand of chip
A United Pet Club chip is not required. Enter the number from an existing chip and it links to your record in exactly the same way.
Why paid registration lets pets down
An unregistered microchip is a dead end. A scanner will read the number, but with no record behind it, nobody can ring you. Registries that charge for registration or for updates give owners a reason to put the job off, and stale details fail at exactly the moment a lost pet needs them to work.
With us there is no fee to dodge, so there is no excuse to let a record go out of date. Moved house, new number, pet rehomed? Update the microchip record the same day, it takes a few minutes.
Questions about free registration
Is microchip registration free in the UK?
With United Pet Club, yes. Our free lifetime plan never charges UK pet owners for registration or updates: no sign up fee, no charge to change your address or phone number, and no renewal, for the life of your pet. Some UK databases charge for updates or offer paid premium records, so it is worth checking before you register elsewhere. With us the core registration simply stays free.
Will I be asked to pay later to keep the registration active?
No. Once a chip is registered it stays live for the life of your pet unless you remove it yourself. No subscription props up the free tier.
Can I register a chip that did not come from United Pet Club?
Yes. Enter the microchip number from your pet's paperwork, or from a scan at your vet surgery, and it registers exactly as one of our own chips would.
How do the upgraded plans differ from the free lifetime plan?
The free plan holds the core record: your contact details, your pet's information, and searchability at any hour, free for life. Upgraded plans bolt on extras such as additional notification options. Upgrading is never required to keep the basic registration working.
