What registering a pet actually does
Registering a pet creates a record: your pet's name, species, breed, photo, and birth date, tied to your contact information in the United Pet Club pet registry. Vets, shelters, and finders can reach that record when it counts, and you can update it any time your details change. Creating it costs nothing, and so does keeping it.
Pet registration is a different thing from microchip registration. The profile is the record; a microchip is one way of linking a found animal back to it. A pet with no chip still benefits from a profile, and once your vet does implant a chip, you add the 15-digit number to the profile you already have. Your pet's ID tags and pet passports hang off the same record.
