Pododermatitis (bumblefoot) in guinea pigs
Pododermatitis is a chronic inflammatory and often infected condition of the footpads. In guinea pigs it typically results from wire or abrasive flooring, obesity and poor hygiene, producing swollen, ulcerated soles. Advanced cases can extend to bone and become very painful.
