Impaction colic
Impaction colic occurs when firm, dry ingesta lodges in the large intestine, most often at the pelvic flexure, causing a partial or complete blockage. It typically develops gradually with dehydration, poor dentition, or coarse forage. Most cases resolve with medical management, though severe impactions can require surgery.
