Das Plattenepithelkarzinom ist ein bösartiger Tumor der Haut- und Schleimhautzellen, der Hunde an Haut, Nagelbett und im Maul betrifft. Die kutane und digitale Form ist lokal invasiv und kann mit Sonnenexposition oder Pigmentierung zusammenhängen, während die orale und tonsilläre Form aggressiver verläuft. Läsionen zeigen sich häufig als nicht heilende Geschwüre, Krusten oder proliferative Massen. Eine frühe, großzügige Exzision bietet die besten Aussichten.
