Dotterperitonitis
Also known as: Dottervorfallsbedingte Bauchfellentzündung
Die Dotterperitonitis ist eine Entzündung der Bauchhöhle, verursacht durch Dottermaterial, das in die Zölomhöhle statt in den Eileiter abgegeben wird. Der Dotter löst eine Entzündung und häufig eine bakterielle Infektion (meist E. coli) aus, was zu einer septischen Bauchfellentzündung führt. Sie ist eine häufige Ursache für Erkrankung und Tod bei Legehennen mit hoher Legeleistung.
