Ngộ độc chì xảy ra do ăn phải các vật liệu chứa chì như sơn cũ, chì câu cá, hàn thiếc và pin. Chì làm rối loạn hệ thần kinh, đường tiêu hóa và quá trình sản sinh hồng cầu. Bò và thủy cầm cũng thường bị ảnh hưởng. Liệu pháp thải sắt (chelation) giúp giảm nồng độ chì trong máu.
