Bệnh histomonas

Bệnh histomonas (đầu đen) là bệnh ký sinh trùng đơn bào do Histomonas meleagridis gây ra, nhắm vào manh tràng và gan. Gà tây rất dễ mắc bệnh và thường chết, trong khi gà có sức đề kháng tốt hơn và trở thành vật mang trùng. Ký sinh trùng này lây truyền qua trứng của giun manh tràng (chi Heterakis) và qua giun đất.
