Mavidil, mavidil virüsünün neden olduğu ve Culicoides sivrisinekleri tarafından yayılan, geviş getirenlerde görülen böcek kaynaklı bir viral hastalıktır. Koyunlar en ciddi hastalığı geliştirirken, sığırlar sıklıkla daha hafif veya belirtisiz enfeksiyonla rezervuar görevi görür. Belirtiler küçük kan damarlarındaki hasarı yansıtır ve ateş, ağız lezyonları ve ödem şeklinde ortaya çıkar.
