Glokom, retinaya ve optik sinire zarar veren, görme kaybına yol açan göz içindeki basıncın ağrılı bir şekilde artmasıdır. Birincil (sıklıkla kalıtsal, ırkla ilişkili) veya diğer göz hastalıklarına ikincil olabilir. Akut glokom bir acil durumdur ve görmeyi kurtarmak için hızlı tedavi gereklidir.
