Botulizm, Clostridium botulinum toksinlerinin neden olduğu, hızla ilerleyen ve sıklıkla ölümcül olan nöromüsküler bir felçtir. Atlar son derece hassastır ve bozulmuş yem içinde önceden oluşmuş toksini yutabilir veya taylarda bunu bağırsakta üretebilir (titreyen tay sendromu). İlerleyici gevşek zayıflığa ve yutma güçlüğüne neden olur.
