เตตราไฮโดรแคนนาบินอลจากกัญชาและอาหารที่มีส่วนผสมของกัญชาทำให้ระบบประสาทของสัตว์เลี้ยงถูกกดการทำงาน ลักษณะทั่วไปคือสุนัขที่เดินโซเซ น้ำลายไหล และไวต่อเสียงผิดปกติ ส่วนใหญ่ไม่เสียชีวิต แต่ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีความเข้มข้นสูงและช็อกโกแลตหรือขนมที่มีไซลิทอลผสมกับ THC จะเพิ่มอันตรายอย่างมาก
