Äggbindning (dystoki)
Also known as: Fastsittande ägg
Äggbindning är oförmågan hos en honfågel att passera ett fullbildat ägg genom äggledaren och kloaken inom normal tid. Det är ett potentiellt livshotande nödfall, orsakat av för stora eller missbildade ägg, kalciumbrist, äggledardysfunktion eller övervikt. Fastsittande ägg kan orsaka krystning, prolaps, bukhinneinflammation och död.
