Миксоматоз — тяжёлое, часто смертельное поксвирусное заболевание кроликов, вызываемое вирусом миксомы и распространяемое главным образом кровососущими насекомыми, такими как блохи и комары. Оно проявляется характерным отёком век, морды, ушей и гениталий, а также слизисто-гнойными выделениями из глаз и носа. У восприимчивых домашних кроликов заболевание нередко приводит к гибели в течение одной-двух недель. В некоторых регионах подлежит обязательной регистрации.
