Гингивит — воспаление дёсен, вызванное накоплением бактериального налёта вдоль десневого края. Это самая ранняя, обратимая стадия заболеваний пародонта, которая, в отличие от более поздних стадий, полностью устраняется при лечении. Без лечения переходит в необратимое заболевание пародонта.
