Giardiasis
Zoonotic
Giardiasis er en tarminfeksjon forårsaket av protozoparasitten Giardia, som forstyrrer opptaket av næringsstoffer i tynntarmen. Det er en vanlig årsak til bløt eller fettete diaré, spesielt hos kattunger og i overfylte omgivelser. Mange infiserte katter viser ingen symptomer. Enkelte genotyper har zoonotisk potensial, selv om de fleste feline stammene er vertstilpasset.
