Systemische lupus erythematodes

Systemische lupus erythematodes (SLE) is een multisystemische auto-immuunziekte waarbij het immuunsysteem tegelijkertijd veel weefsels aanvalt. Het kan gewrichten, huid, nieren en bloedcellen aantasten en veroorzaakt een wisselend, in hevigheid schommelend ziektebeeld. De diagnose is lastig en de behandeling vereist langdurige immuunsuppressie.
