Paracetamolvergiftiging
Also known as: Vergiftiging door paracetamol
Paracetamol veroorzaakt methemoglobinemie en leverschade. Katten zijn extreem gevoelig door een gebrekkige glucuronidering en kunnen al na één tablet een levensbedreigende methemoglobinemie ontwikkelen. Honden zijn bij hogere doses vatbaarder voor levernecrose. N-acetylcysteïne is het tegengif.
