Penyakit tulang belakang yang biasa di mana cakera intervertebra merosot dan hernia, menekan saraf tunjang, menyebabkan kesakitan atau lumpuh. Baka kondrodistrofik seperti Dachshund amat terdedah, berkaitan dengan retrogen FGF4 yang menyebabkan kemerosotan cakera awal. Permulaan boleh berlaku secara akut dan teruk.
