Penyakit otot rangka baka, klasik pada Labrador Retriever, disebabkan oleh mutasi gen PTPLA (HACD1) dan dicirikan oleh kedudukan nukleus sel otot di tengah. Anak anjing mengalami kelemahan menyeluruh, ketidaktahanan bersenam, dan gaya berjalan tidak normal sejak usia beberapa bulan. Penyakit ini tidak menyakitkan dan bertambah teruk dalam keadaan sejuk.
