Penyakit otot rangka herediter, klasik pada Labrador Retriever, disebabkan oleh mutasi gen PTPLA (HACD1) dan ditandai dengan letak sentral inti sel otot. Anak anjing mengalami kelemahan menyeluruh, intoleransi olahraga, dan gaya jalan abnormal sejak usia beberapa bulan. Penyakit ini tidak nyeri dan memburuk dalam kondisi dingin.
