Laringotrakeitis menular adalah penyakit herpesvirus akut yang sangat menular pada saluran pernapasan atas ayam. Bentuk parah menyebabkan sesak napas nyata, terengah-engah, dan mengeluarkan lendir berdarah akibat trakeitis hemoragik. Virus ini membentuk infeksi laten, dan burung yang sembuh dapat menjadi pembawa seumur hidup.
