मेगाइसोफेगस इसोफेगल मांसपेशी टोन और गतिशीलता की सामान्यीकृत हानि है, इसलिए इसोफेगस फैल जाता है और भोजन को पेट में नहीं ले जा सकता। भोजन और तरल पदार्थ जमा हो जाते हैं और वापस निकल जाते हैं, जो अक्सर एस्पिरेशन निमोनिया की ओर ले जाता है। यह जन्मजात हो सकता है या तंत्रिका, मांसपेशी, या हार्मोनल रोग के द्वितीयक रूप में अर्जित हो सकता है। इसे सीधी मुद्रा में भोजन कराने और अंतर्निहित कारण का इलाज करने से प्रबंधित किया जाता है।
