פורפיריה היא הפרעה תורשתית נדירה בסינתזת heme (פיגמנט הדם האדום) שבה מולקולות מקדימות הנקראות פורפירינים מצטברות ברקמות. בחתולים חולים היא גורמת לצביעה חומה עד ורודה של השיניים, העצמות והשתן, לרגישות עור לאור ולעיתים לאנמיה. מספר צורות מופיעות בחתולים, עם הורשה אוטוזומלית דומיננטית מדווחת.
