מחלת ניוקאסל היא מחלה נגיפית מידבקת מאוד בעופות, הנגרמת על ידי זנים ארסיים של פאראמיקסווירוס עופות מסוג 1 (נגיף מחלת ניוקאסל). זנים וולוגניים גורמים לתסמינים נשימתיים, עצביים ועיכוליים חמורים עם תמותה גבוהה. המחלה חייבת בדיווח לארגון הבריאות העולמי לבעלי חיים (WOAH) ועלולה לגרום לדלקת לחמית קלה בבני אדם.
