Breed standards describe the הוואנזי in שחור, לבן, כחול, כסוף, שוקולד, שזוף, אדום, זהב, שמנת וחום-צהבהב. Standard patterns: אחיד, דו-צבעי, תלת-צבעי, ברינדל, טלוא, פארטי-קולור, רואן, סייבל, קצוות שזופים וברינדל הפוך.
