پورفیری

پورفیری یک اختلال ارثی نادر در سنتز هم (رنگدانه قرمز خون) است که در آن مولکول‌های پیشساز به نام پورفیرین در بافت‌ها تجمع می‌یابند. در گربه‌های مبتلا این امر باعث تغییر رنگ قهوه‌ای تا صورتی دندان‌ها، استخوان‌ها و ادرار، پوست حساس به نور و گاهی کم‌خونی می‌شود. چندین شکل در گربه‌ها رخ می‌دهد، با ارث‌بری غالب اتوزومی گزارش‌شده.
