بوتولیسم
Also known as: سندرم کره لرزان
بوتولیسم فلج عصبی‌عضلانی به‌سرعت پیشرونده و اغلب کشنده است که توسط سموم Clostridium botulinum ایجاد می‌شود. اسب‌ها بسیار حساس هستند و ممکن است سم از پیش شکل‌گرفته را از علوفه فاسد بخورند یا، در کره‌اسب‌ها، آن را در روده تولید کنند (سندرم کره لرزان). این وضعیت باعث ضعف شل پیشرونده و دشواری در بلع می‌شود.
