Patellar luxation
Hereditary
A common developmental orthopedic condition in which the kneecap dislocates from its groove, usually medially in small breeds. It results from skeletal malalignment and a shallow trochlear groove, and ranges from intermittent skipping to permanent luxation with lameness and arthritis. Many cases are congenital and inherited.
