Giardiasis
Zoonotic
Giardiasis er en tarminfektion forårsaget af protozoparasitten Giardia, som forstyrrer optagelsen af næringsstoffer i tyndtarmen. Det er en hyppig årsag til blød eller fedtet diarré, især hos killinger og i overfyldte omgivelser. Mange inficerede katte viser ingen symptomer. Nogle genotyper har zoonotisk potentiale, selvom de fleste feline stammer er værtstilpassede.
