Ægbinding (dystoki)

Ægbinding er manglende evne hos en hunfugl til at udskille et fuldt dannet æg gennem æggelederen og kloakken inden for normal tid. Det er en potentielt livstruende nødsituation, forårsaget af for store eller fejldannede æg, kalciummangel, æggelederdysfunktion eller overvægt. Fastsiddende æg kan give presning, fremfald, bughindebetændelse og død.
