نقص التورين
Also known as: انخفاض التورين
التورين حمض أميني أساسي للقطط، ولبعض سلالات الكلاب أيضاً. يؤدي النقص الغذائي المستمر إلى اعتلال عضلة القلب التوسعي، وفي القطط إلى تنكس الشبكية المركزي المسبب لعمى تدريجي. لا تستطيع القطط تصنيع كميات كافية من التورين وتعتمد كلياً على مصادره الغذائية، لذا يظهر النقص عند اتباع أنظمة غذائية غير مناسبة أو غير متوازنة. قد يحدث أيضاً فشل تناسلي وتأخر في النمو.
