داء ماريك مرض شديد العدوى مفرط التكاثر اللمفاوي يصيب الدجاج، وينجم عن فيروس هربس ألفا خلوي الارتباط (Gallid herpesvirus 2). يُحدث أوراماً لمفاوية من الخلايا التائية في الأعضاء الحشوية، وتضخماً في الأعصاب يسبب الشلل، وكبتاً مناعياً. يسبب الشكل العصبي الكلاسيكي شللاً تدريجياً في الأطراف، في حين تظهر أيضاً أشكال حشوية وعينية للمرض.
