داء السكرابي مرض دماغي تنكسي عصبي مميت وتقدمي يصيب الأغنام والماعز، وهو النموذج الأصلي لاعتلال الدماغ الإسفنجي الشكل المُعدي (مرض البريون). ينجم عن تراكم بروتين بريون مطويّ بشكل غير طبيعي في الدماغ، مما يؤدي إلى تغير إسفنجي. وتشمل العلامات السريرية حكة شديدة، وفقدان الصوف، وتغيراً سلوكياً، ورعاشاً، وعدم تناسق حركي على مدى أشهر. وتتأثر القابلية الوراثية بقوة بنمط جينوتايب بروتين البريون (PRNP)، والمرض واجب الإبلاغ في كثير من الدول.
